Photograph Giant Pandas, Golden Monkeys & Dramatic Mountain Landscapes
The wild side of China holds rare animals and stunning landscapes few travelers are privileged to photograph, revealed on our singular itinerary led by expert photographer-naturalist guides. In remote nature reserves deep in the mountains of Sichuan, clear rivers rush through deep gorges, and lush forests shelter some of Earth’s most endangered creatures. This is the last wild habitat of the giant panda, which subsists almost entirely on the bamboo protected in these remote sanctuaries. Supported by WWF, these little-visited wilderness enclaves also harbor rare moon bears, golden snub-nosed monkeys, Chinese goral, takin, blue sheep and exquisite birds, including elegant golden pheasants. Photograph pandas up close at renowned panda research and breeding bases—plus cultural subjects in traditional villages, and the Terracotta Army in the ancient Silk Road city of Xi'an.
