Reykjavik Blue Lagoon experience with transfers – 4 Hours
In the southwest corner of Iceland is the Reykjanes peninsula, less than 1-hour drive from the capital or 20-minute drive from Keflavik International Airport.
There the Mid-Atlantic Ridge comes ashore. The nature is magnificent. Various volcanic formations are found on Reykjanes Peninsula, such as mountains and hills chiefly made of volcanic tuff, large and small lava flows plus different types of volcanoes and volcanic edifices. The Reykjanes peninsula volcanic zone is a direct continuance of the North Atlantic Ridge that surfaces from the ocean at Reykjanes, and it is home to many important geological formations, some of which are utterly unique, including numerous types of volcanoes, naturally carved pools, craters, and geothermal pools.
Few things are cozier than relaxing in a hot pool in the middle of nature. Iceland has an abundance of easily accessible natural pools, but it is perhaps the Blue Lagoon the most spectacular of them all.
The Blue Lagoon was founded in 1992. Its specialty is the geothermal sea, which is two thirds of salt water and one third of fresh water. It is found at a depth of up to 2000 meters and is led by a pipe from the source to the lagoon where guests can enjoy it and relax. It is rich in minerals, silica, and algae, which is the basis of all skin products in the Blue Lagoon.
National Geographic has chosen the Blue Lagoon as one of the 25 wonders of the world. The Blue Lagoon has developed into an experience company based on spas, research and development, skin care, hotels, and restaurants

Gunnuhver is the largest mud geyser in Iceland, about 20 metres wide. Grindavik, the small fishing village with about 3000 inhabitants, has a long history, including when pirates from Morocco and Algeria arrived in the 17th century and took fifteen residents to sell as slaves. Additionally, we will take in the magnificent coastline and dramatic breaking waves by the Reykjanes lighthouse and “The Bridge Between the Continents” which connects the American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Reykjavik South Shore Adventure – 10 Hours
We take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs.
Among the stops on this tour are at the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, the Reynisfjara black sand beach, Dyrhólaey and Vik..
Driving through Vatnajökull National Park, established in 2008 covers 14,1% of Iceland and ranks as Europe's second largest. The unique qualities of Vatnajökull National Park are primarily its great variety of landscape features, created by the combined forces of rivers, glacial ice, and volcanic and geothermal activity. Vatnajökull is Europe's largest glacier.
The south side of Vatnajökull is characterized by many high, majestic mountain ridges, with outlet glaciers descending between them onto the lowlands. Sheltered by the high ice, the vegetated oasis of Skaftafell overlooks the black sands deposited to its west by the river Skeiðará.
Dyrhólaey is a 120-metre high promontory, not far from Vík. The place got its name from the massive arch that the sea has eroded from the headland. (The name literally means "door-hole"). There are also amazing rock formations all along the Birdlife here is abundant, with puffins and eider ducks being the most common species in the area. The lighthouse on the top of the cliff stands impressive and stoic in this often very windy area.

Reykjavik Walking tour – 3,5 hours
Reykjavík is a city of bold contrasts. The capital of Iceland is small but cosmopolitan and small-town; vibrant and sophisticated; young-at-heart and yet full of history. In this tour you will walk around the city and discover the main sights.

Together with your local guide, you will pass by the Hallgímskirkja church, the highest and probably most iconic building in town, as well as the Dome Church, which is Reykjavik’s Lutheran Cathedral and the bishop’s place in Iceland. The Dome Church is located downtown, next to the Alþingi, house of parliament.

Avoid the crowds and hustle and bustle associated with a group activity. For a memorable trip ashore, we invite you to consider a private shore excursion. Enjoy the undivided attention of your own driver/guide and the flexibility of experiencing the aspects of the local culture that most interest you. Below are just some samples of the private shore excursions we can arrange for you. Let us personalize your experience!

Akureyri - Lake Mývatn classic - Nature Baths- FD Tour

The tour starts by driving along the coast of Iceland’s longest fjord, Eyjafjordur, from where you will get an excellent view of Akureyri and its surrounding mountains. After crossing Víkurskard-pass, view the Fnjoskadalur valley, where clear geological remains from glacial and post glacial times can be seen. The first stop is by Godafoss falls - one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland; the water of the river Skjalfandafljot falls from a height of 12 m over a width of 30 m. In 1000 A.D., at the meeting of the Althing, the Icelanders voted to adopt Christianity. The wooden idols of the Norse mythology were thrown into the falls in a symbolic gesture that swept away the old religion. Thus the Godafoss literally means the "Waterfall of the Gods”. From there you will drive directly to the Lake Myvatn area, stopping by the unique craters at Skutustadir before having lunch. After lunch you will visit the Dimmuborgir lava labyrinth, a paradise of towering lava castles, natural arches and countless unexplored grottos.

Next is a visit to the Myvatn Nature Baths. The Nature Baths offer bathers a completely natural experience - a relaxing dip amidst clouds of steam and a luxurious swim in a pool of geothermal water drawn from depths of up to 2.500 meters. The baths contain a unique blend of minerals, silicates and geothermal micro-organisms. The warm, soothing waters are beneficial to skin and spirit alike, creating a sense of wellbeing and creating a lasting memory of your visit. Facilities include a reception area and cafeteria, changing rooms and showers for up to 120 guests, three natural steam baths accommodating up to 50 bathers at a time, and a 5000m2 outdoor geothermal bathing pool maintained at a constant temperature of 38-40ºC.

Due to its chemical composition, undesired bacteria and vegetation do not thrive in the lagoon making chlorine or any other disinfectant redundant. Following a relaxing bathe, you will then continue to the gurgling purple and yellow sulphur cauldrons at the high temperature thermal field of Namaskard, which are so hot that they actually boil. Following a short walk at Namaskard, enjoy a relaxed return drive to Akureyri.

Tour Duration: 8 hours
Tour can operate: Morning
Wheelchair Accessible: No
Physical Activity Level: Moderate
Included: Private car with driver-guide, entrance fee to Nature Baths. Pick up/drop off at the port.
Not Included: Meals, swimsuit and towel (swimwear and towel can be rented at the Nature Baths)

Akureyri - Godafoss Waterfall & Laufas Turf Farm - HD Tour
Leaving Akureyri, cross the waters of the fjord and travel along the slopes of Vadlaheidi Mountain, via the Fnjoskadalur Valley to Vaglaskogur Forest - one of Iceland's rare woodlands which is part of an extensive soil and vegetation reclamation project. From Fnjoskadalur, you'll travel to historic Godafoss - waterfall of the heathen gods that figure prominently in Iceland's 12th century Book of Settlement. Legend has it that Thorgeir of Ljosavatn, a chieftain present at the Thingvellir in the year 1000, was given the authority to decide which religion was to be adopted by the Icelanders. He was a pagan himself, but after a period of profound thought, decided that Christianity was to be the religion of Iceland. Upon his return home, he took the statues of the pagan gods he used to worship and threw them unceremoniously into a waterfall near his homestead. From this time, the waterfall has been named Godafoss (Waterfall of the Gods). After enjoying some time at the falls, the tour continues. The areas geological past is clearly visible on the surrounding hillsides and suggests that a once large periglacial lake filled the valley. Onwards to Laufas a 19th-century farmhouse built in the traditional Icelandic style of stone and turf – now one of the last turf farms in the country.  Originally it was a manor farm and vicarage, the farmhouse itself dates back to 1866 and contains many interesting household and agricultural implements used by the gentry at around that time. The nearby church was built in 1865. Following a pleasant scenic drive back to Akureyri, a stop is made at the towns Botanical Gardens famed for its 2,000 species of local and foreign flowers which, incidentally, bloom outside thanks to Akureyri’s warm microclimate.

Situated in the most north-easterly tip of Ireland and first built by Richard de Burgh, Earl of Ulster in the 13th century, the ruins of the castle are a huge tourist attraction.

The castle is surrounded by terrifyingly steep drops at either side; these would have been essential features to the Vikings and early Christians, who were drawn to this magnificent place where an early Irish ring-fort once stood. It is situated on a 100 foot high basalt stack with a sea cave underneath. The earliest features of the castle, the two large drum towers, about nine metres in diameter, can still be seen on the eastern side.

Return to Belfast Port on the motorway which runs close to some scenic inland countryside.

Dining

Chartreuse
Featuring a modern French menu, Chartreuse evokes memories of a chic Parisian fine dining restaurant. Wherever guests are seated in this regal restaurant, they will be treated to a succulent dinner while enjoying incredible ocean views. The restaurant ambience is complemented by a menu that features dishes expertly prepared using modern techniques for a multiple course celebration of French gastronomy. Located on Deck 5, Chartreuse is open for dinner each evening, reservations are required.
La Veranda
Serving breakfast and lunch, La Veranda is exceedingly popular any time of the day. Spacious and comfortably casual, La Veranda offers regional specialities that often reflect the cuisines of the countries called on. Dishes are presented in a buffet style that displays the diversity of the menu.
Sette Mari
Each evening, La Veranda transforms into Sette Mari at La Veranda, a casual, intimate dining experience. Enjoy an extensive menu of authentic antipasti and Italian specialities served á la carte and paired with fine Italian wines - complimentary of course.
Compass Rose
As the flagship restaurant aboard each of the ships, the wonderfully spacious Compass Rose serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and features an exceptional variety of European-inspired Continental cuisine, as well as flavorful vegetarian and kosher dishes and nutritious Canyon Ranch SpaClub® specialities.
Pool Grill
The Pool Grill is truly a come-as-you-are dining venue. Enjoy this casual dining experience whether you’re getting a bite after sunbathing or swimming in the pool. Come by before or after a shore excursion – there’s no need for more formal attire during our evening hours – or enjoy a snack between activities.
Coffee Connection
Located on Deck 5, Coffee Connection is your informal destination to relax, meet other Guests and enjoy coffee and snacks throughout the day. In addition to coffee selections, food is available.

Bars & Lounges

Observation Lounge
Located on Deck 11 forward, the Observation Lounge is a quiet place to read and relax while watching the spectacular views Seven Seas Mariner offers upon entering or leaving the various ports of call. The Observation Lounge musicians will entertain daily and it is the perfect spot for pre-dinner cocktails or a nightcap.
Pool Bar
Located on Deck 11 outside area by the pool, you can join your fellow guests for a cocktail or frozen drink in the relaxed atmosphere of the Pool Bar.
Horizon Lounge
Located on Deck 5 aft, the Horizon Lounge is the ideal place for cocktails or to simply relax and unwind with an after-dinner drink. A resident musician will entertain daily during teatime as well as before and after dinner. Game shows and other entertainment may be scheduled at the discretion of the Cruise Director.

Entertainment & Nightlife

Constellation Theater
Perfectly tiered for unobstructed viewing and furnished with plush seating, the main show lounge is an intimate venue without a bad seat in the house. The phenomenal variety of entertainment here includes full-scale musical revues, rousing cabaret shows and Cirque-style productions backed by a nine-piece Regent Signature Orchestra.
Boutiques
The duty-free shops offer Regent Seven Seas Cruises logo wear, jewellery, perfumes, swimwear, designer resort wear, precious stones and gift items, all at duty-free prices. Opening hours vary and are printed in the Passages daily newsletter.

Casino

Casino
The Casino is located on Deck 4 and is open every day at sea when not restricted by territorial border limits. Blackjack, roulette, stud poker, mini-craps and slot machines are offered for the guests' enjoyment.

Onboard Activities

Library
Well-stocked and exceedingly comfortable, the Library offers a most civil setting for reading and relaxing. Curl up with a classic novel, play a strategic game of chess or borrow a DVD from the library to watch in the privacy of your suite.
Reception & Concierge
A welcoming Reception Desk is open 24 hours a day and the staff are happy to answer your questions and provide any general assistance you may need. The Purser can be contacted at the Reception Desk as well. The Purser can change traveller's checks and accepts payments of shipboard accounts at the end of the cruise.
Pool
Lounge the day away with a good book and a cold drink on the pool deck. The teak pool deck is one of the most expansive at sea, including a large heated pool, two whirlpools and table tennis.
Club.com
It's easy to stay connected, even while sailing the seven seas. Ships have WiFi throughout for guests with their own laptops, and there are plenty of computers in the staffed Internet Café, which is open round the clock. Printers, e-mails, Internet access and Wireless access throughout the ship are all available for a nominal fee.

Wellness

Fitness Center
Canyon Ranch fitness experts lead popular exercise classes, such as Pilates, yoga and aerobics and are on hand to offer advice and demonstrate the use of fitness equipment. One-on-one training can be arranged with a Fitness Instructor. Equipment includes Lifecycles, free weights, striders, StairMasters, treadmills, weight benches, a Nautilus machine, workout mats and step benches. Guests under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Fitness Center.
Jogging Track
In addition to planned activities in the Fitness Center, take advantage of other sports-related activities throughout the ship. Deck 12 provides golf cages, shuffleboard, paddle tennis and a full-circle jogging track. Eleven laps around the Seven Seas Mariner track is equal to one mile.
Shipboard Policies
  • Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required
Guests with special dietary requests should advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises of any special dietary requirements 90 days prior to sailing by sending an e-mail to rsscops@rssc.com. General dietary needs such as low salt or low cholesterol foods can be satisfied onboard the ship just by speaking with the dining wait staff.

  • Pregnancy Policy
Regent Seven Seas Cruises cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during, the cruise.

  • Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all suites, staterooms and balconies fleet-wide. In addition, cigarette, electronic cigarette or cigar smoking is not permitted in any enclosed dining areas, whether it be the ship's main dining rooms, the alternate dining venues or the outdoor dining areas. Electronic cigarette smoking is permitted throughout the ship with the exception of the dining areas mentioned above.

Cigarette smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the outdoor pool area and the following public rooms:

    • Connoisseur Club
    • Horizon Lounge (outdoor one side designated area)
    • Pool area (designated area opposite side of the Pool Bar)

Cigar Smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club and the designated area on the opposite side of the Pool Bar.

Pipe smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club. Pipe smoking in open deck areas is considered an extreme fire hazard and is not permitted.

Failure to comply with the above-stated policy will result in guests being asked to leave the ship at their expense, without refund or credit for the unused portion of their cruise.

  • Wheelchair Access & Special Needs
Guests with any medical condition(s) that require special services, including travel with medical apparatus, should advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises in writing at time of booking. Please note some ports-of-call may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility and special arrangements may need to be made.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises' wheelchairs on board are for emergency purposes only. Guests requiring a wheelchair for mobility must bring their own.

For guests requiring oxygen equipment, an oxygen concentrator is the only form of oxygen equipment allowed aboard ship, and must be provided by the guest.

Regent has the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who, in its judgment, is in a physical, mental or emotional condition unfit for travel or whose comfort on board may be compromised due to situations beyond the care that can be provided by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
